Information Security and Data Protection Support Analyst

To assist with data protection and information security matters, including assurance and governance work.
To provide cover for the Group Information Security Officer during absence and busy periods.


Operational Requirements:

  • Support in the completion of data protection and governance assurance work to ensure SBG is complying with its internal policies and procedures pursuant to the GDPR and the Data Governance Framework.
  • Act as Secretary to the following where required: The Data Governance, Cybercrime & Information Security Forum, The Board Risk Committee, Executive Risk Committee, meetings with Chief Risk Officer
    • (Includes production of meeting packs, taking minutes, and overseeing completion of actions).
  • To assist review procedures are up-to-date, risk-based and fit-for-purpose.
  • Assist in the production of Data Protection and Information Security training material.
  • Help to ensure the internal communications portal is updated in line with regulatory changes, current trends and provides guidance on routine queries.
Customer Service and Process Improvement:

  • Look for opportunities to continually improve our processes to ensure excellent customer service is maintained.
  • Assisting in the improvement and documentation of Information Security and Data Protection processes and procedures
Communication and Liaison:

  • Liaising with departments to ensure their data protection records are correct and information controls are adhered to
  • To undertake projects as and when required, to support the needs of the business or to achieve departmental objectives.
Risk:

  • Awareness of operational risk, which may impact Sesame Bankhall Group.
Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and Retail Conduct Risk (RCR)

  • To highlight to your line manager procedures & processes that do not adhere to the principles of TCF and to put forward suggestions that improve the TCF practices within the department.
Three Lines of Defence:

  • To deliver your role competently and comply with the relevant standards and procedures, ensuring that you deliver a service where suitable advice is given to the end consumer, which is adequately recorded and ultimately promotes customers being treated fairly.
Information Security

  • Awareness of information security principles, policies and procedures and ensure these are followed daily.
  • Remain vigilant at all times and report any security concerns, suspicions and/or breaches in a timely manner.
  • General awareness of ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials
Service Delivery:

  • Demonstrate an understanding of what service delivery excellence means in your role; ensuring you get the basics right every time.
  • Evidenced through your day to day behaviours and performance measured against the SBG service charters
