SBG to host series of nationwide investment seminars
→ Sesame Bankhall Group (SBG) is hosting investment seminars for advisers at 15 venues across the UK focusing on portfolio construction – the technicalities, process and practicalities of creating a suitable investment portfolio that clearly links the client’s risk profile with the advice given.
The seminars, led by SBG’s wealth management team, will also cover topics such as the latest guidance for advisers on building and monitoring their investment process; tax considerations when investing; how to position adviser charging in a low interest rate / low growth environment; and a debate on active versus passive investment strategies. SBG’s wealth management team will also provide advisers with an update on the market and the continuing development of Optimum Investment Management, following its launch last year.
Pan Andreas, director of wealth management at Sesame Bankhall Group, says:
A couple of months into RDR, our seminars present an ideal opportunity for advisers to sense check their investment proposition for clients. Are advisers charging the right amounts for their service? Is it clearly explained and do clients value it? Are firms adhering to the regulator’s requirements to evidence a consistent and repeatable process that links client risk profiles to the advice given?
In these volatile economic conditions, it has never been more important for advisers to make the most of the guidance and tools at their disposal to construct portfolios in line with their clients’ risk appetite and capacity for loss. Our team will explain the dangers and pitfalls behind constructing a portfolio from scratch and the tools available to help advisers assess client suitability. With insight from our expert team and lively debates, we expect these seminars to be popular with advisers.
The events will include presentations from leading providers Architas, Aviva, Barclays, Prudential, Skandia and Zurich. They will take place at 15 venues across the UK, starting in Wakefield on Tuesday 12th March and finishing in Chepstow on Thursday 18th April.*
The events are free to attend and provide advisers with 3.5 hours of Structured CPD**
