Sesame Bankhall Group (SBG) has seen significant take-up from members in its new Practice Management System, powered by XPLAN from IRESS, which was formally launched at the recent Sesame Symposium and Bankhall Conference.

At the conferences, CEO George Higginson outlined SBG’s multi-million pound investment in technology over the past three years and announced plans to roll out XPLAN across the group to enable advisers to benefit from a complete technology solution.

The response to the new SBG Practice Management System was received extremely positively by members, with over 170 firms, representing 730 financial advisers, signing up to the new system.

The SBG Practice Management System, XPLAN, was initially launched last summer to the first group of firms adopting the new Restricted Advice proposition. It already has 250 users, incorporating both independent and restricted advisers across the Sesame Network and Bankhall’s directly authorised members.

Peter Stone from IFA firm Harbour Financial in Essex commented:

We’ve been crying out for something like XPLAN for a long time. The system gives us access to all the information we need at the touch of a button and provides all this in a consistent format, saving us huge amounts of time and effort. We find that when we’re dealing with clients, XPLAN certainly keeps us on track; it’s very easy to recall information and it reduces the amount of paperwork we need to keep. It also makes it easier when acquiring new clients, because it’s easy to transfer the information across to XPLAN.

Mark Loosmore, IRESS Business Development Director, added:

We have been working closely with advisers during the development and roll-out of the new system and this has clearly paid dividends given the response from both Sesame Network firms and Bankhall customers at the conferences. Further exciting enhancements to the system will take place throughout this year that will deliver tangible benefits to advisers and their clients, differentiating XPLAN from other technology solutions in the market.
