Hosted yesterday on Wednesday 2 September, the virtual awards celebrate individuals and companies who have demonstrated their support for minority groups and promoted and inspired those who are otherwise under-represented.

The Championing Women’s Equality category acknowledges companies whose policies, schemes or initiatives encourage and enable gender-based diversity in the workplace. The judges were looking for a company that champions equal treatment of all gender identities and that demonstrates practical efforts to create a positive working culture in the business.

Specifically, SBG was recognised for its numerous initiatives designed to embed gender equality and equitable pay into the culture of the business. From our policy changes that have been made to forge a more equal approach to reward, to the launch of our external networking group Women At The Table bringing together women from across our adviser community, to the success of our #BalanceForBetter campaign, we aim to create a better balance in the workplace, to challenge stereotypes, and to influence behaviour to positively impact individuals within SBG and beyond.

The accolade builds on from the award won by SBG for ‘Championing Gender Equality’ at the 2019 Diversity In Finance Awards.
